Step One: Determine which type of chip was used at your event.

disposableDisposable Chip: A disposable chip DOES NOT NEED to be returned. These chips are tied into your shoe laces. These chips usually bear the logo of the race on top of the chip. These chips can be kept as a souvenir or if you want to make the world a greener place you can return the chip so we can recycle it for use at a different event.

There is usually a group of volunteers in the finish line chute who clip the chips off of your shoe before you exit the finish line area. If you escaped the finish line chute without returning your chip to our volunteers please send it back to use for use at other events. There is a $30 fee for an unreturned shoe chip.
