Step One: Determine which type of chip was used at your event.
Disposable Chip: A disposable chip DOES NOT NEED to be returned. These chips are tied into your shoe laces. These chips usually bear the logo of the race on top of the chip. These chips can be kept as a souvenir or if you want to make the world a greener place you can return the chip so we can recycle it for use at a different event.
Shoe Chip: A shoe chip NEEDS to be returned. These chips are typically zip tied to your shoe. There is usually a group of volunteers in the finish line chute who clip the chips off of your shoe before you exit the finish line area. If you escaped the finish line chute without returning your chip to our volunteers please send it back to use for use at other events. There is a $30 fee for an unreturned shoe chip.
Strap Chip: A strap chip NEEDS to be returned. These chips are secured to your leg using a velcro ankle strap and are generally used for multisport events. There are usually volunteers in the finish chute who remove the chip. If you squeeked by our volunteers without having your chip removed please send it back for use at other events. There is a $30 fee for an unreturned strap chip.
Step Two: Send your chip back.
If you need to send us your timing chip, you can send it in the envelope that your bib and chip came in. If you no longer have that one you can use an standard letter envelope. Please include a note with the chip that has your name and which race you completed. Race chips can be addressed to:

After we receive your timing chip, our team will send you an email to let you know that your chip and has been received.
