Ever wanted to be part of the triathlon experience but cringe at the idea of swimming, biking and running?
Well, we have a deal for you!
Come to the event and watch everyone swim, then leave on the bike and then you start and do just the run. You will start at the bike exit area and run the course the triathletes will be running. With a little luck and a quick pace, you will finish before the first triathlete and be able to cheer them on. Once you are done, come enjoy the HOT post race food we offer all the triathletes. This will get you the feel of the triathlons without having to swim or bike. Then, next time just maybe ... The run will start as the last biker from the triathlon goes out on the course. Runners will get a race shirt and get the same post race meal as the triathletes! There will be awards for the top three overall men and women in the 5k run. More details coming soon!
About:
Come race North Mankato Triathlon and experience the great hospitality of the Mankato area. A few years back I met with the North Mankato mayor Mark Dehen and he expressed how important this race is to North Mankato and how he wanted this race to continue. We put our heads together and continued the North Mankato Triathlon better than ever.
The swim is in Hiniker pond, a small quaint park nestled in an urban setting. The support for this swim is fantastic and you will feel safe from start to finish. For spectators and athletes waiting to start. The view from the knoll over looking the pond is nothing less than spectacular.
After the swim, get on your bike and race out on Judson Bottom Road along the Minnesota River. This is one bike course you will not soon forget; beautiful! The bike course is so close to the river that is was close to not happening a few years back due to the flooding. Just before the turnaround you have a fairly large hill to climb. The great news is that once you get to the top you get to have a fun ride back down it!
After this, run through Hiniker Park and around Spring Lake Park on your way to the finish line in Hiniker Park. The run is flat and fast! Give this race a try and you will be hooked!
